Received bad news last night. A friend of Joan and I,
Clyde Welsh passed away suddenly. I served with him in the Navy and later we remained friends and I settled in the part of Pennsylvania where he was from. He introduced me to Joan and he and his daughter Shanda were in our wedding. Due to our distance geographically, we haven’t seen each other in years. But he was a friend for life and Clyde, I will truly miss you brother. Fair winds and a following sea!!! Prayers to your family!! 😢
Back in august I went bike shopping. Local bike shoppers saw an old guy and really kind of blew me off. Which is interesting considering they had almost no bikes in stock. They needed every shopper and shoppers were few and far between. The Trek shop in Savannah was the only one that had anything and wanted to talk.
Just before the pandemic started, we held a 40 year reunion of our work group OI Division, Operations Specialists onboard USS Independence CV62. We met in Florida and had an absolute fantastic time reminiscing.
It’s still a big world out there. And it’s waiting for us to get back out there!!
